The Falls Church Business in Education Partnership has announced the following partnership opportunities.
M.U.S.I.C. Days. Need some leaves raked? How about a babysitter or a birthday party helper? Musical accompaniment for the event you’re planning? Students from the GMHS Band and Choral program will be working in the community on Saturdays, November 7, 14, 21, 28 and December 5 to raise money for the GMHS Music Department trip to Florida. The students are not charging standard fees for the work they do. They’re encouraging fair pay for good labor. Contact Margaret Drawbaugh to arrange for a job for two or more students.
Performers at your Party. George Mason High School chorus is available to perform at your holiday party. They have a wonderful selection of festive songs to perform, and will bring cheer and good wishes to parties large and small! Contact director Lauren Glass.
Husky Howls. Mary Ellen Henderson Middle Schools has a new cooperative discipline program, and seeks donations of prizes for middle school students as rewards for good behavior. They are looking for small things like water bottles, pens, tablets or gift cards in small amounts ($5.00 range)
Career Bulletin Board. Thomas Jefferson Elementary is working on a year-long career education project – a Career Bulletin Board. We’ll be featuring professionals who use the subjects that students are learning in school – math, writing, social studies, art, Spanish, science, music and physical education. Participating in this is an easy way to share your career expertise with students.
